CAN YOU IDENTIFY THIS PERSON ?

Betsy helped her dad scan this photo and she emailed it to me. I thought it was Ted at first and a Well Drilling Rig, but Charlie told me he thought it was a John Hofstetter and also that this was not a Well Drilling Rig but some Farm Equiptment used back then.
I don't remember a John Hofstetter.
Do you and can you add a story about him?

O.K. I give up but I'll get right on this and place a call to the Indiana License Bureau and request a report on #167 for info in their records. No, It is not John Hofstetter a bachalor brother of our grandpa who was stocky and short and drove a coup I would say approximate 1947 and fairly new and I think it was green and think it was a dodge. He lived in the area and visited occassionally in Wolcott. I would have to think it is our grandpa as a younger man than we new. It is not on their farm nor was the tractor or vehicle or whatever you call that rig, it looks to me like a grain blower theirs. It is a Hofstetter, my guess but to early to be any siblings of grandparents. My guess, but have only been wrong 543 times not counting this. Dale

Yesterday I met a woman who is 92 from Cissna Park. Still lives alone and drives her own car. She was pretty with with hair and very spry. When I asked her if she knew Joe Kuperschmid, she said she was related to him since her cousin was Joe's wife. I said I'm related too. She asked how? I told her my grandmother was Mary Kuperschmid Hofstetter, his sister. She said HOFSTETTER? I said yes. She said she knew John Hofstetter. I told her he was my grandfather's brother. She must have thought a lot of him because she said she was so glad to meet me. She is my friend Barb Schafer's mom's cousin. She came to visit Barb & her family.

Oh she had really white hair! Also, John gave his car to Ruthie when he died. She drove it until she wasn't able to anymore. She often came to Washington in it.

WOW, I love reading your stories. Lil, I either forgot or did not know that Ruthie drove a car. And I can't recall a John Hofstetter ever.
Lil would that woman have photo's of John Hofstetter ? I really like doing this and getting stories back. Thanks

Gee, I don't know. I don't remember her name but I suppose Barb's sisters could get it for me. And ask her too. 1/28/12

I remember John Hofstetter. He was old and I was young. He sort of reminded me of Harry Truman. Right? or wrong?
